Welcome to ISM—Pittsburgh! We're happy you're here. This site includes the latest chapter information, as well as ISM Global offerings and updates. ISM—Pittsburgh and ISM work collaboratively to enhance the customer service experience that all members have. And, the results of this website is just another example of our joint efforts to bring increased value to supply managaement professionals.
With approximately 800 members in the chapter, we remain true to our mission to serve "the education, certification, communication and networking needs of supply management professionals in the Greater Pittsburgh area. We will do this to enhance the supply management profession, its image and ethical standards to maximize membership value".
The 2024-2025 theme for this year is "Pioneering the Future of Supply Chain Excellence through Learning and Innovation". We are excited to offer over 20 professional development events, awarding over 50 CEH's and offering topics on Leadership, BI & Analytics, Supplier Management & Auditing, AI & Procurement, Negotiations, Contracts, Advanced Negotiations, Conflict in the Workforce, Diversity, to name just a few. These events will be offered both virtually and in-person. Our kick-off event will be held on August 20 with a tour of Acrisure Stadium followed by a networking session. The tour will begin at 4:00 p.m. at 100 Art Rooney Avenue. Attendees will earn two CEH's for this event. On August 29, we will offer a 12:00 p.m. webinar on The Age of Information, AI and Automation: Automating Pocurement and Project Management with Dr. Dean Kashiwagi, IFMA, Procurement an Project Management Expert. We will award one CEH for participation in this webinar.
Since August, we have hosted ten events where we awarded a cumulative 35 CEH's. On September 17 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. we toured the East End Brewery Company and hosted a networking session following the tour. On September 20, ISM-Pittsburgh & Duquesne University offered a one day seminar on Analytics in Procurement with Dr. Matt Drake, Professor, Duquesne University. This seminar was held at Rockwell Hall on Duquesne University's Campus. We headed into October with a webinar with Dr. Michael Urick, Dean, McKenna School of Business, St. Vincent College. Dr. Urick spoke at a noon webinar on October 8 on the topic of Conflict in the Workforce. One CEH was awarded to attendees. We held our second seminar of the fall on October 17, again on Duquesne's Campus on the topic of Supplier Management and Auditing with Dr. Michael Sherwin, Duquesne University Professor. This was a one day seminar. We hosted the Sixth Annual Women Who Lead Conference on November 8 with a host of speakers and awarded seven CEH's. On November 14, ISM-Pittsburgh & Duquesne University hosted the third fall seminar on Effective Leadership with Dr. Rex Gatto, President, Gatto Associates. We awarded eight CEH's for the one-day event.' We concluded the November offerings with a webinar on Operations & Logistics at PPG Paints Arena. One CEH was awarded. We are excited to close out 2024 with our annual holiday meeting at The Pittsburgh Zoo, touring behind the scenes and discussing operations at the zoo. Two CEH's will be awarded -- and some fun give-aways, too! Registration for all events is available below.
