Welcome to ISM—Pittsburgh's new and expanded website. This new site includes the latest chapter information, as well as ISM Global offerings and updates. ISM—Pittsburgh and ISM have worked collaboratively to enhance the customer service experience that all members have. And, the results of this newly-launched website is just another example of our joint efforts to bring increased value to supply managaement professionals.

With approximately 800 members in the chapter, we remain true to our mission to serve "the education, certification, communication and networking needs of supply management professionals in the Greater Pittsburgh area. We will do this to enhance the supply management profession, its image and ethical standards to maximize membership value".

Through June, ISM—Pittsburgh has successfully hosted seventeen events, awarding almost 50 CEH's and included topics of Leadership, Sourcing, Negotiations, Contracts, Advanced Negotiiations, Collaboration, Diversity, to name just a few.  These events were offered both virtually and in-person.  On a beautiful spring day in April, we  toured PNC Park and learned about the behind-the-scenes operations of The Pittsburgh Pirates.  This event was offered for free to all members.  We hosted a very interesting webinar on May 14 on "How Do You Know You Got a Good Price" with Mr. Paul Stasko.  This webinar was also offered for free to all members.   Following this webinar,  we offered on May 31, a one-day seminar on "Advanced Negotiations" with Mr. Jim Baehr, Vice President Sourcing & Procurement, S&H Systems.   This was our final professional development event of the year.   Rounding out the 2023-2024 program year, we will hold our sporting clays fundraiser on June 28 at Highlands Sporting Clays Resort.  This fundraiser enables ISM-Pittsburgh to fund its scholarship program, which this year will include sponsorship of the University of Pittsburgh's Race to the Case Competition!

ISM—Pittsburgh hosted five sessions in collaboration with Duquesne University.  Beginning in February, five procurement focused seminars were offered, covering Excel Fundamentals & Data Analytics, Strategic Sourcing, Six Sigma, Fundamentals of Negotiations and Advanced Negotiations.  All sessions were held at Rockwell Hall, Duquesne University, and led by highly experienced and engaging instructors.  These sessions followed the highly successful "fundamentals' sessions offered in 2023.  Stay tuned for the fall 2024 course offerings.  For more information and/or group registration questions, contact Lisa Romango, ISM—Pittsburgh Executive Director at

ISM—Pittsburgh will offer numerous opportunities to earn continuing education hours toward your certification requirements.  Continue to visit the website for the latest information on offerings and opportunities.  And as a reminder, SAVE the DATE of the June 28 sporting clays fundraiser, which will be held at Highlands Sporting Clays in Champion, PA.  More details to follow.  We look forward to meeting and exceeding the professional development needs of all supply management professionals in the Greater Pittsburgh region.

On behalf of the ISM—Pittsburgh Board of Directors, I want to welcome you to the newly launched website, and I encourage you to take some time and explore.

In early June, the newly elected Board of Directors held its strategic planning session. At this annual meeting, we brainstormed and collaborated to develop a strong professional development program for the coming program year. I also want to take a moment and ask all members to share their ideas for programs, events, site visits, etc...  We value your input and want to ensure you that we are here to listen and meet your supply management needs both personally and professionally.

The theme for the 2023-2024 program year is "Forging Connections: Building Strong Foundations for Supply Chain Excellence.  We will host over 10 events both in-person and virtual between August and December, all supporting the theme for the year.  And, we will contnue the start of the new year with an in-person Lunch & Learn on January 16, 2024.  We hope to see you at an event as the Board works to meet your continuing education requirements.
