ISM-Pittsburgh, Inc.
A Chapter of the Institute for Supply Management working together to advance the profession of supply management.
Pittsburgh's Leading Supply Chain Management Organization
Welcome to ISM—Pittsburgh! With approximately 550 members in the chapter, we remain true to our mission to serve "the education, certification, communication and networking needs of supply management professionals in the Greater Pittsburgh area. We will do this to enhance the supply management profession, its image and ethical standards to maximize membership value".
We are excited to offer multiple professional development and networking events, awarding CEH's and offering topics on Economic Transformation in the Region, Fundamentals of Materials Requirements Planning (MRP), The critical Role of Manufacturing in the region, Excel as a Fundamental Procurement Tool and site visits at breweries, the Carrie Furnaces, Ebara Elliott Company, and much more. These various events are offered hybrid, virtually and in-person.
The 2026 -2027 program year will kick off on August 19 with a tour of The Pittsburgh Brewing Company -- sounds like the perfect way to enjoy a summer evening and earn professional development hours, and network with your peers! We will continue the site visits with a trip to The Carrie Furnaces which were built in 1884 and operated by U.S. Steel until 1982. Don't miss out on a visit to this national landmark! On October 6 we will hold a webinar at noon on "Beyond Steel: Pittsburgh and the Economics of Transformation" with Mr. Christopher Briem. Christopher is the Regional Economist with the program in Urban and Regiional Analyssis at the University of Pittsburgh's Center for Social and Urban Research. Two copies of Mr. Briem's book will be given away, just for joining the webinar! On October 16, we will offer a 5-hour seminar on "The Fundmentals of Materials Requirements Planning" with Mr. John Russo, Director, Center of Supply Chain Excellence, Duquesne University. This event will be held on Duquesne University's Campus. On October 20, we will head East to The Elliott Company where we will offer a 2:00 p.m. tour of the Company's operations. On November 6, ISM-Pittsburgh will co-host its annual Women Who Lead Conference on Duquesne University's Campus. More details will follow, but it will be a day filled with exceptional presenters. This event is curated for women, but open to all. It is a day filled with education, networking, opportunities, and learning! On November 17 at noon, Ms. Daniela Osio, President and CEO, Dalinea, will lead an informative and engaging webinar. We will close out the calendar year with a December 15 noon webinar with Mr. Kevin Mulholland, Manager, Nexus Circular. We are so pleased to have offered a number of events in different formats and at different venues. We look forward to delivering an educational and exciting 2026-2027 program year filled with events that are beneficial to supply management professionals, both personally and professionally.
ISM—Pittsburgh works diligently to offer numerous opportunities to earn continuing education hours, which may be applied toward your certification requirements. Continue to visit the website for the latest information on offerings and opportunities. Please contact Lisa Romango, Executive Director.
