Welcome to ISM—Pittsburgh's new and expanded website. This new site includes the latest chapter information, as well as ISM Global offerings and updates. ISM—Pittsburgh and ISM have worked collaboratively to enhance the customer service experience that all members have. And, the results of this newly-launched website is just another example of our joint efforts to bring increased value to supply managaement professionals.
With approximately 400 members in the chapter, we remain true to our mission to serve "the education, certification, communication and networking needs of supply management professionals in the Greater Pittsburgh area. We will do this to enhance the supply management profession, its image and ethical standards to maximize membership value".
Through April, ISM—Pittsburgh has successfully hosted fourteen events, awarding over 40 CEH's and included topics of Leadership, Sourcing, Negotiations, Contracts, Collaboration, Diversity, to name just a few. These events were offered both virtually and in-person. On April 17, we will tour PNC Park and learn about the behind-the-scenes operations of The Pittsburgh Pirates. This event will be offered for free to all members. We will host a very interesting webinar on May 14 on "How Do You Know You Got a Good Price" with Mr. Paul Stasko. This webinar will be offered for free to all members. Following this webinar, on May 17, in collaboration with Duquesne University, we will host a five hour seminar on " The Fundamentals of Negotiations" with Ms. Wendy Serapiglia, Professor of Supply Chain, Duquesne University. Following this fundamentals seminar, we will offer on May 31, a one-day seminar on "Advanced Negotiations" with Mr. Jim Baehr, Vice President Sourcing & Procurement, S&H Systems.
ISM—Pittsburgh will host five sessions in collaboration with Duquesne University. Beginning in February, five procurement focused seminars will cover Excel Fundamentals & Data Analytics, Strategic Sourcing, Six Sigma, Fundamentals of Negotiations and Advanced Negotiations. All sessions will be held at Rockwell Hall, Duquesne University, and led by highly experienced and engaging instructors. These sessions follow the highly successful "fundamentals' sessions offered in 2023. Stay tuned for more detailed course information. ISM—Pittsburgh will offer numerous opportunities to earn continuing education hours toward your certification requirements. And as a reminder, SAVE the DATE of the June 28 sporting clays fundraiser, which will be held at Highlands Sporting Clays in Champion, PA. More details to follow. We look forward to meeting and exceeding the professional development needs of all supply management professionals in the Greater Pittsburgh region.
